Thanks for visiting, friend! I’m Bethany – a wife, mom of five, and most importantly a Christian woman who believes the gospel really changes how I think and live.

I post here from time to time, but more often you’ll find me over at Women Encouraged where I serve as the content director and host the podcast.

I see you, little buds. Almost time to bloom. We’ll get there. Maybe today’s sunny 67 degrees and shockingly blue skies will help.
The emptiness of the walls is getting to me a bit, The emptiness of the walls is getting to me a bit, honestly. There’s a finality to packing up a house that I didn’t know would hit me the way it has. In the last two days, a bunch of friends have asked, “How are you feeling about everything?” I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous at all about moving to a smaller place for awhile, having 6 acres to look after, and all the changes that come along with that. I can’t deny my heart winces looking around at the space we brought all our babies home to, or the living space that has held countless gatherings, and it seems impossible that we’ll walk out the door in a few days and this part of our story in this house will be over.

But I also have so much peace about the process God has brought us through this past month and where He’s taking us, and I am confident that all the unknowns stretching and pushing me right now attest to the work God is going to do. This step is something we’ve prayed for and never before have doors swung open the way they have in the last few weeks. So we’ll say our goodbye to the house Alex built in faith fifteen years ago for me and for the children we hoped for, and we’ll do the next right thing in faith.

Christians step out in faith knowing the end of the story. (Really, we do.) We just don’t know the middle part. We don’t know what kinds of deaths we’ll be called to die in the space between now and resurrection. But every little kind of death to self is life in Christ.

If you look closely at the picture, you can see I didn’t stage it 😉 because there’s a tomb decoration from Easter sitting on the buffet. I stashed there in a hurry and haven’t packed it away yet. It’s an empty tomb, of course, to remind us that Jesus is alive right now! It seemed like the right reminder to me tonight that the empty walls here aren’t the end of this story God is writing for us. We’re going forward following the risen Christ. We’re trusting Him that wherever He takes us, He will use and bless our home for His glory, just like He has done with this one.❤️
Happy #siblingsday to this crew of ours. I am ever Happy #siblingsday to this crew of ours. I am ever thankful that they have each other and for how the Lord has grown their love and loyalty for one another. ❤️
I think we are still in a bit of shock at how smoo I think we are still in a bit of shock at how smoothly and quickly all our new changes have rolled in. (Our house wasn’t on the market for more than a day or so and we had two offers immediately after the first two showings!) So we’re saying goodbye soon to the home that has held us for nearly 15 years. God has filled it up with children and life and so much joy and fellowship and now He’s moving us on to the next adventure. Looking forward to sharing the new space with people as we head out to live on 6 acres just east of town.
